Welcome to this week’s Science|Business Funding Newswire
Europe is getting serious about funding its innovators. The European Investment Bank is launching a second iteration of its European Tech Champions Initiative, worth €1.25 billion.
In the Netherlands, the incoming government has said it will set up its own ‘Darpa-like’ innovation agency, following the example of Germany’s Sprind and the UK’s Advanced Research and Invention Agency.
And Poland is looking to scale up its start-ups by launching a €1 billion fund to spur private capital investment, inspired by France’s Tibi Initiative.
Meanwhile, the EU is investing an ambitious €50 million in a project industrialising superconducting quantum devices, as it gets serious about quantum.
This week’s Funding Radar highlights funding available for SME-led collaborative cross-border innovation projects.
Finally, the Data Corner explores how much interest the EU’s Choose Europe campaign has attracted from US scientists.
